Open Call: Margaret Ekpo Youth Fellowship Consultancy

YouthHubAfrica seeks to work with a consultant whose role is to facilitate and coordinate activities at a 3-day retreat as part of the onboarding and capacity building for the Fellowship Cohort.
The Magaret Ekpo Youth Fellowship program will work with 20 emerging feminists and older feminists across Nigeria to develop the capacity to organize, advocate and continue to speak up on issues facing the wellbeing of women and girls in Nigeria. The project will provide a platform for the feminists to tell their stories and learn how to use storytelling and other advocacy techniques to amplify their voices and to address harmful cultural and social practices targeting young women. It will also seek to amplify the voices of the fellow to demand equality and challenge gender norms.

Key Deliverables:

• The consultant will work with YouthHubAfrica to finalize an agenda for the 3 days retreat
• Attend the onboarding webinar for the fellow
• Act as the key facilitator for the 3 days retreat for the fellows
• Submit a final report of the 3-day retreat to the youthHubAfrica office
• Support the design of the planned virtual interventions

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, you must be a female who:

• Has at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Consultant.
• Is familiar with working with women rights issues
• can demonstrate understanding of the feminists space in Nigeria and if possible, Africa
• Has great facilitation skills
• Demonstrates leadership, team working and coordinating skills
• Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability
• Shares knowledge, experience and provides helpful feedback and advice
• Plans and produces quality results to meet established goals
• Demonstrates substantive and technical knowledge to meet responsibilities and post requirements with excellence
• Demonstrates strong written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities
• Responds positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.
