the United Nations Academic Impact (UNA), in collaboration with ELS Educational Services, Inc. Invites students to participate in the Many Languages, One World Essay Contest, which will decide the winning delegates to invite to a Global Youth Forum and preparatory conference to be held in New York in July of 2015.
Each year, the One World Essay Contest and Global Youth Forum is organized to highlight the importance of multilingualism as it relates to global citizenship. The purpose of the essay contest is to promote multilingualism and the continued study of the six official languages of the United Nations: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

WORTH

  • 70 students will be selected as delegates for the 2015 United Nations Academic Impact Global Youth Forum where they will create plans of action related to the United Nations Post-2015 Global Development Agenda.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to full-time college or university students worldwide
  • Must be 18 years or older by March 25
  • Contestants must be full-time university students, sponsored by a Faculty Member or University Representative
  • Functional knowledge of English is required in order to use the UN websites to conduct research on the essay topic and for participation in the preparatory conference
