YouthHubAfrica, in partnership with GIZ and the African Union CDC, is inviting qualified media and content production companies to submit bids for the Implementation of the MOVE Africa Project. The project aims to increase awareness of the Free Movement and Migration Protocol among young Africans through innovative and engaging media content.
Purpose: The consultant will work with a travel influencer/blogger to develop three (3) high-quality video documentaries that highlight the challenges, opportunities, and realities of migration across Africa. These videos will serve as powerful advocacy tools to inform, engage, and inspire young Africans.
Scope of Work: The assignment will cover the following:
- Media Content Collection – Plan and conduct travels across three African countries to gather authentic migration stories and media content.
- Video Production – Produce one full-length documentary for YouTube and at least three (3) short videos for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, and other platforms.
- Content Promotion – Disseminate and promote video content across digital platforms. Facilitate at least one live social media session to discuss the Freedom of Movement Protocol and promote the documentary.
- Branding & Attribution – Acknowledge supporting partners (YouthHubAfrica, GIZ, and the African Union CDC) using the approved hashtags #MoveAfricaNow and #YouthMoveAfrica in all content.
Key Deliverables
- One (1) full documentary on the Free Movement and Migration Protocol.
- Three (3) short video documentaries for social media.
- Pre-launch social media campaign (Instagram story prompt: “Should Africans need visas to travel within Africa? Let’s discuss!”).
- Well-promoted video content across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok, with proper branding and credits.
- At least two (2) Instagram live sessions on migration in Africa.
- Reach and engage between 500,000 – 1,000,000 young Africans through the documentaries and related campaigns.
- Effective use of approved hashtags: #MoveAfrica, #MoveAfricaNow, #YouthMoveAfrica.
Required Expertise & Qualifications
- Demonstrated capacity in professional video documentary production.
- Proven experience in migration advocacy, development, or continental integration projects, or the ability to include an expert in the team.
- Strong background in communications, media studies, or related fields.
- Previous work with African Union initiatives or similar regional projects.
- A strong network within the African media and content creation ecosystem.
