The New Culture Foundation has been at the vanguard of creating cutting edge design and architectural production since 1980 from its sprawling factory facility in Idumuje-Ugboko in Delta State. Better known for the ground breaking work executed by eminent artist, master builder and designer- Demas Nwoko who founded the establishment in furtherance of his belief in critical design that fuses modern manufacturing methods with indigenous artistic expression as a sure fire route to achieving industrialization and national development, The New Culture Foundation has proven a training ground for young architects, artists and other design professionals over the past years to gain practical understanding of different stages of the integration of design with production, taking the manufacture of bespoke furniture and other architectural components as a starting point, and with major projects in the mold of Demas Nwoko’s Dominican Institute in Ibadan (where custom made architectural components go a long way in transmitting the design vision) amongst others as potential end points.
