The students planning to pursue PhD in the National Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Otago in Newzeland for the academic session 2015-2017 are invited to apply for Global Future Charitable Trust/National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (GFCT/NCPACS) PhD Scholarships. The primary objective of the scholarship program is to provide PhD graduates with the most advanced theoretical insight into the origins and management of violent conflict as well as skills for dealing with that in their future academic or practical work.

Project Areas

  1. Development and peace building
  2. Non-violent movements and pacifism
  3. Post-conflict reconstruction: Transitional justice, reconciliation and social healing
  4. Peace education
  5. Critical peace studies
  6. Arms control and disarmament

WORTH

  • Scholarships are awarded for up to 3 years (36 months).
  • The annual stipend is NZ$25,000 which covers tuition fees.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicants can be from anywhere in the world.
  • Applicants must be planning to pursue PhD in NCPACS, University of Otago.
  • Applicants must meet the academic requirements for admission to the PhD program.
  • Applicants pursuing projects on the above mentioned areas are highly encouraged.
