MSP Scholarships in the Netherlands are open to applicants from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia. Ideally, half of the scholarships are allocated to female applicants.

The Mena Scholarship Programme aims to contribute to the democratic transition in the participating countries. It is also aimed at contributing to capacity building within a wide range of governmental, non-governmental and private organisations and institutions in the selected countries.

Worth of Award

The scholarship covers:

  • subsistence allowance
  • international travel costs
  • visa costs
  • course fee
  • medical insurance
  • allowance for study materials
  • All courses have a duration of between two and twelve weeks and will start between June 2014 and February 2015.
  • The target group is professionals (with a maximum age of 45) who are nationals of and working in one of the selected countries.
  • While scholarships are awarded to individuals, the need for training must be demonstrated in the context of the organisation for which the applicant works.
