Many harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation(FGM), child marriages, breast ironing, and many more have continued to be common practice because it is deeply entrenched in tradition and culture especially in developing countries where the victims are often its strongest proponents. this is based on the different beliefs and myths associated with these practices.
However, it has been proven that many of these beliefs are mere myths, and these harmful practices have severe repercussions for the survivors.
