ESoDoc International is a training initiative aimed to accompany
filmmakers, new media professionals and NGO-collaborators in
the creation of their factual audiovisual projects for the international
market. Two public online-conferences and a residential workshop held
by international experts to train African, Indian and European professionals to
plan, create and distribute their documentaries and cross-media projects
with a social impact.

ESoDoc International is organized by ZeLIG-School for documentary,
television and new media (Italy) in collaboration with
Amref (Kenya/Italy) and Formedia (India) and
financed by the European Union’s Media Mundus Programme.

 

ONLINE CONFERENCES
1st Online Conference (Oct 24,  2011)
The view from inside – documentary, participatory video and new media to narrate stories with a social impact.
-Visual language in Africa, India and Europe
-Techniques of narration: Participatory video and Crossmedia

2nd Online Conference (Nov 7 2011)
Financing and distribution for factual-projects with social impact in Africa, India and Europe.

The online conferences are accessible free of charge to registered users ESoDoc International trainers will give an insight on the treated topics and open a discussion with the participants. In order to satisfy the whole target-group, the conferences are held in text-chat at a defined time

 

RESIDENTIAL WORKSHOP

AMREF Child Development Centre in Nairobi (Kenya) – Jan 28 – Feb 4, 2012

The workshop offers frontal lectures and seminars on topics around the use of new media in the creation and distribution of documentaries and on the collaboration between media-makers and NGO/NPO collaborators as well as case-studies, project-related training and tutorial assistance. Widespread networking possibilities are given through trainers, participants and a final pitching session with presentation of the projects.
African, Indian and European filmmakers, new media professionals and NGO/NPO collaborators can apply to participate with their projects here within November 16, 2011.

The residential workshop is open to 15 participants, 5 participants from each target-region (Africa, India, Europe) who are selected in an admission procedure.

Costs
Participation fee:
600€ for participants from EU countries
100€ for participants from African countries and India.
The participation fee covers food and board for the entire residential workshop.

Travel organization
Admitted participants receive up to 600€ coverage of their travel expenses by ESoDoc International. Indian, African and European participants organize their travel themselves and receive up to 600€ back upon presentation of the related receipts.
