The SRHR Programme Officer’s primary function is to oversee the implementation of activities within SRHR thematic areas. This will include helping to shape and direct the organisation’s work in championing youth participation in decision-making processes as well as leading advocacies on several campaigns and initiatives at national and international levels. The ideal candidate will provide leadership across the full range of projects in planning, implementation, and documentation. He/she will Identify and resolve
diverse issues as they arise, which often requires interpreting existing procedures and processes and independently determining the appropriate application.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Program Manager, and other team members to understand program goals and to meet expectations.
  • Analyse trends and gaps in Young people’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and accountability and recommend program strategies to bridge the gaps
  • Research opportunities for mobilising resources for the organisation.
  • Take the lead in SRH and GBV (health) Programs and lead the design of new initiatives and projects, including preparing proposals, concept notes, and reports as assigned.
  • Lead activities implementation on proposed and approved ideas
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on time and with accurate data
  • Contribute to information-sharing and data management systems
  • Work with the Program manager to train SRHR staff to become leaders of SRHR promotion, GBV prevention, and response
  • Take notes of regular team meetings for the program office use.
  • Work with other Program Assistants to coordinate work activities, meet deadlines, and provide support where needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Degree in Social Work, Public Health, International Development or other relevant fields of study (a Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
  • Three years of experience in program design and implementation in a similar role will be an added advantage.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, to remain flexible to a changing environment, and to make decisions independently.
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Demonstrate willingness to work in a team.
