The Girl Generation is accepting proposals from grassroots organisations, networks and individuals for its End Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Grants Programme with an aim to build an Africa-led movement to end FGM by enabling grassroots organisations and individuals to access funds to support communication, advocacy and campaigning activities to promote ending FGM.
WORTH
- Activity Grants to enable social change to end FGM: grants to grassroots organizations and networks to support activities to end social change. There are three types of activity grants available to organizations and networks:
- Small grants (US$ 4,000 – US$ 10,000)
- Medium grants (US$ 10,000 – US$ 20,000)
- Large grants (US$ 20,000 – US$ 50,000)
- Travel Grants to support individuals, networks and grassroots organizations to participate in national, regional and international events related to ending FGM.
- Up to USD $1,500 to support travel to regional and national events
- Up to USD $3,500 to support travel to international events
ELIGIBILITY
In order to apply, applicant must:
- Be a local organization (such as non-government organizations (NGO)/civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBO), etc.) or network (including youth clubs, school clubs, journalist networks, etc.)
- Already be working on ending FGM or a related area (e.g. women’s rights or gender based violence, youth activism or communication for change)
- Be based in Kenya, Nigeria or The Gambia
