Applicants are invited to apply for Negotiating Agreement in Congress Research Grants sponsored by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for the 2018-2020 academic years. These grants are available for both home and International students to pursue research at the Social Science Research Council.

The aim of the grants is to affect the character and emphases of research and writing about the U.S. Congress.

The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) is an international, interdisciplinary network of networks dedicated to galvanizing knowledge and mobilizing it for the public good. The SSRC was founded in 1923 by visionaries in the fledgling fields of anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics.

WORTH

  • The Negotiating Agreement in Congress Research Grants provide up to $10,000 of funding to be used for up to one year of research and writing.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must meet the following area for these grants:

  • Applicants must have a PhD in hand by the application’s deadline of September 15, 2017. The PhD may be from in any discipline within the social sciences or humanities.
  • Applicants may be US citizens or non citizens.
  • Applicants at any stage of their postdoctoral research careers (junior, mid career, and senior scholars) are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants must hold an affiliation with a college or university based in the United States at the time of the application deadline.
  • Applicants must be available in October 2018 to participate in a workshop in Brooklyn, NY.
