Novia Salcedo Foundation (NSF) has been helping young people to bridge the gap between the world of education and the world of work. Through a wide range of services, she provides these young people with skills, guidance and experience to help them to engage into sustainable employment at local and international work placements. We also have a wide range of projects regarding youth employment and a Think Tank which creates the frame of her reflection.

As a result of all this work, and deeply worried about young people employment situation around the world, eight months ago she set up a new project: The International Campaign for the Youth Employment Decade 2013-2016.

After 33 years working with young people and companies in the field, NSF wants to go forward. She thinks that she has to make a proposal to change the economic and social model by integrating young people in her human and social development through the implementation of specific global actions to reduce youth unemployment. So what she proposes is an International Campaign that aims to create an international movement of thought, discussion, reflection, action led by civil society, to provide contents, raise awareness, define priorities and lines of action, good practices and find solutions to this point. Definitely, ‘to place Youth Employment on the GLOBAL AGENDA for HUMAN DEVOLOPMENT POST 2015 through the declaration by the United Nations General Assembly of the YOUTH EMPLOYMENT DECADE 2019-2028’.

Novia Salcedo Foundation thinks that this campaign will be a good formula to combine interests and to look for unanimous obligations to reduce youth unemployment at the same time that it is also a good opportunity for the social and economic transformation of organizations and countries and will involve states to consider youth employment as a priority in their policies. Of course, achieving this goal, requires having many allies, networks and cooperate with others.

Ensuring the participation and commitment of stakeholders from civil society, governments, political parties, private sector, youth organizations, and academic institutions is important to make the process as inclusive, transparent and effective as possible. And that is the reason for this publicity. NSF needs partners in order to carry out this important project.
