Female condoms have been in Nigeria for as far back as the year 2000. However female condoms have not garnered much attention from policy and law makers, unlike its counterpart, the male condom. As a result of this, the demand and usage of the commodity is almost insignificant.

In order to promote the use of female condoms and its popularity among Nigerians, Education as a Vaccine (EVA) in partnership with Association for Family and Reproductive Health (ARFH) is implementing the Female Condom Advocacy Project (FCAP). FCAP seeks to increase focus and attention by Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV/ AIDS policy makers, program planners and implementers in Nigeria on female condoms.

We are looking for young people between 18 and 24 years who live in Abuja or Lagos to serve as advocates for this project. Female condom advocates will undergo an advocacy training after which they will develop advocacy work plans which they will implement in their states.
