The 2014 edition of the DSTV Eutelsat Star Award is now open. The DSTV Eutelsat Star Awards are positioned to be Africa’s leading satellite technology awards for the young minds. The primary aim is to stimulate interest and passion for satellite technology amongst young people. The competition is organized by MultiChoice Africa and Eutelsat. Entrants are required to write an essay or produce a poster on the following topic:
WORTH
- For the overall winning essay, a trip with his/her parents/legal guaedian to Eutelsat in Paris, France and onward to a spaceport to attend live rocket lunch.
- For the overall winning poster, a trip with his/her parents/legal guardian to Eutelsat in Paris, France and a satellite construction site.
- For the runner up essay and poster, a trip with their parents/ legal guardian to visit multiChoice in Johannesburg and the South African National Space Agency at Hartebeesthoek.
ELIGIBILITY
- Students between 14 and 19 years of age anywhere in Africa where MultiChoice operates
- Entries can be submitted in English, French or Portuguese.
