The United States Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) is seeking applications from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Countering Violent Extremism in Kenya and Tanzania” with an aim to implement the specific Countering violent extremism (CVE) projects.

- Community Early Warning and Early Response Planning in Northeast Kenya (Maximum award $750,000)
- Enhancing Strategic Communications Efforts to Promote Positive National Identity and Reconciliation in Marginalized Communities (Maximum award $350,000)
- Using Trauma Healing as a Tool to Counter Violent Extremism in Coastal Kenya (Maximum award $500,000)
- Enhancing Psycho-Social Services to Strengthen Community-Police Relations in Vulnerable Communities (Maximum award $400,000)
- Advancing an Effective, Multi-Stakeholder National CVE Action Plan in Tanzania (Maximum award $800,000)
- Strengthening Credible Voices against Violent Extremism in Tanga (Maximum award $400,000)
- Justice Sector Community Outreach to Prevent Violent Extremism in Tanzania (Maximum award $300,000).
ELIGIBILITY
Applications are open for:
- Profit organizations other than small businesses
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- Non-profits having a 501(c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.
