The UNA-USA Leo Nevas Human rights Task Force invites college students who are passionate about the UN and human rights to apply for the 2014 Leo Nevas Human Rights Youth Advocate Award.
The UNA-USA Leo Nevas Human Right Task Force is an advisory group of distinguish citizens knowledgeable and vitally concerned about international human rights and the role of the UN and the U.S. in protecting those rights.
Every year, the UNA-USA Leo Nevas Human Rights Youth Advcate Award, recognize the work of a young person who has earned distinction for raising awareness of the UN and human rights mechanisms.
WORTH
- Recognition for your commitment at the UN Foundation/UNA-USA Global Leadership Dinner in New York on October 22.
- The Global Leadership Dinner is a high-level annual event which has been attended by the UN Secretary General, U.S. Ambassador to the UN, countless other high-level diplomats and philanthropists.
ELIGIBILITY
- Undergraduates students who are U.S. residents, U.S. citizens are not required.
- Demonstrated interest and passion for international affairs, civic engagement, human rights and the United Nations.
- Availability to travel to New York City for 2014 UNA-USA/UN Foundation Global Leadership Dinner on October 22, 2014
- Willingness to participate in potential social media and in-person media event hosted by UNA-USA/ during the dinner
- Willingness to write blog posts, tweets, and newsletter articles on your experience
- Travel and reasonable lodging costs associated with participation as the Leo Nevas Human Rights Youth Awardee will be provided by UNA/USA
- Current employees of the United Nations Foundation are not eligible for this award
