The AfCFTA Continental Youth Essay Competition is intended to Amplify Continental Mobilization, Awareness, Engagement, and Participation of African young people between the ages of 18 and 35 years in the Popularization and Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA).
As part of the AfCFTA Youth Inclusion Accelerator Project, the Essay competition will harness the energy, creativity and initiative of Africa’s youth in promoting the AfCFTA, as well as inspire policymakers and society as a whole towards action, from the thoughts of youth from the 55 African Union Member States with regards to practical implementation AfCFTA Agreement.
WORTH
- The top 5 essay participants (one per sub-theme) will have an opportunity to attend the continental Young Leaders and Policy Makers Summer School (BootCamp) in Arusha, Tanzania.
ELIGIBILITY
- The essay should be submitted by an African Youth between the ages of 18-35, who is a citizen of any of the 55 Member States of the African Union, or an African youth residing in the diaspora.
- Essays must be original and unpublished. Plagiarised entries will be rejected.
- Copyright of the essays entered will be assigned to the organiser, with recognition given to the writer.

I want to participate in an important short topic, which is the topic of democratic transformation in poor countries. There is no doubt that the process of democratic transformation needs mechanisms, many of which are more important, in which the society or the people should be in a degree of well-being and self-sufficiency in basic needs. Therefore, a democratic transformation cannot take place if The people were suffering from severe poverty

There is a fundamental belief that one cannot become very rich working for others. This is very true. If it is a fact that one relatively well off working for others, one cannot but note that most of the rich people we know around us today are those working for themselves, in other words who are self employed.
There are quite alot of small-scale businesses that one can embark upon. Some of these may in fact, grow so big that one may find it necessary to give up the “regular” job to face them fully with determination. What is important,.of course, is that you can make both ends meet if you go to the right type of business and you are well organized. What you need to start the business may not be more than giving up a bit of your leisure time. Once you have learnt how to run a business, however, it will not be difficult to go into others ones and you can always be ahead of your competitors.
Before starting up any business you must take two major step in other to be successful.
1. Undertaker a thorough feasibility study of the business first, which may include observation and or survey (mental/oral of physical). The study should be thorough to avoid mid-day collapse.
2. The second step is to decide which type of business should i embark on, or which type of business am i good on. Your decision.should be based on thorough feasibility study.
When starting up the business, you have to consider.
1. Identification of business opportunities/idea.
2. Selecting an opportunity.
3. Preparing a business plan.
4. Gathering resources.
5. Selecting the lega form of business.
6. Obtaining licenses/permits and approvals from the relevant government agencies.
7. Launching your business.
Country all over the world, no matter the stage their development recognize the important of promoting small and medium scale firms as the engine of growth industrialization. SMEs is believed to be the engine room for the development of any economy, because they form the bulk of business activities in a growing economy like that of Nigeria. It can be manifested through employment generation.
40% contribution of Global GDP China has 39.8% million SMEs.Hon-Kong has 300, 000 of such industry.and they constitute 9.8 percent of it’s industrial base. In Russia, SMEs form 84.6 percent of industries while they constitute 98 percent of the industrial base of the USA.
Employment generation capacity of about 58% of the global working population. SMEs also play the critical role of principal safety Net for the back of the population in developing economy.
It help in the area of rural development. SMEs contribute major avenues for income generation and participation in economic activities in the lower income brackets of developing societies expecially in Agriculture, trading and service.
SMEs enable you to convert minimal resources into productive ventures. They also offer variable outfits for technological advancement expecially in business with rudimentary technology requirements.
