The AB Global Health Initiative’s Global Health Innovation Hub is a community that brings together innovators, critical thinkers, students, researchers, young professionals, and creators to foster ideas towards the strengthening of local health systems. It is aimed to be a center of global public health innovation that inspires collaboration and serve as a catalyst for new ideas and help innovators develop low-cost, high-impact, sustainable and scalable global health solutions.
The AB Global Health Initiative (ABGHI) is a Non-Profit Organization committed to improving global health through community programs, educative courses, and innovative solutions to strengthen community health system capacities. Through this Challenge, we will identify and support novel solutions that draw from the experiences of affected communities to significantly improve and in many cases, save the lives of vulnerable people.
Every year, following an open call for submissions, participants are invited to present their innovations to a panel of judges composed of experts in global health, international development, health systems strengthening and innovation. These participants compete for grants and 2 projects are selected yearly to receive as much as 1,000,000 Naira in funding solely towards implementation, unique mentorship, and exposure opportunities. These projects, solutions and ideas are expected to be low-cost, high-impact, sustainable and scalable. All applicants will become a part of the innovation Hub and will benefit from the mentorship and networking opportunities with peers.
WORTH
- Participants will compete for grants worth 1,000,000 Naira in funding solely towards implementation, unique mentorship, and exposure opportunities.
ELIGIBILITY
- Participants will be students of any health-related and multi-disciplinary background in any higher institution in Nigeria.
- Early career young professionals are encouraged to apply.
- The participants should be between the ages of 18-30 years.
- We highly encourage female applicants and persons living with disability to apply.
- The competition will be restricted to Health themes directly related to community development.
