The Communications Section at UN Women Headquarters in New York seeks to enlist a full-time intern to support the Web Editor and Media Specialist. The intern will assist the Web Editor with writing, producing and posting content on the UN Women website. The intern will also assist the Media Specialist with research for media factsheets and releases, expanding the organization’s media contacts database and monitoring pick-up of UN Women content.
Requirements/Qualifications
? Must have a degree in either Journalism or Communications and currently be enrolled in a
Master’s or advanced university degree programme, in any field.
? Experience working in either journalism or institutional communications. Experience with
web publishing is a plus.
? Proficiency in using new technologies and web-based platforms. Knowledge of HTML,
other scripts and web design are a plus.
? Fluency in English. Preference will be given to candidates also fluent in French. Spanish is
also a plus.
? Familiarity with women’s rights issues or international development/relations.
? Self-starter; organized; team-player, able to multitask and balance multiple
responsibilities.
? Strong writing and editing skills, and attention to style.
? Permission to work in the United States of America.
