EcoChampions is pleased to announce the CLIMATE EDUCATION LEADERS FELLOWSHIP.
The Climate Education Leaders Fellowship is the first of its kind in Africa, and is a 2-month immersive program for emerging Climate Change Education Leaders. EcoChampions aims to train 5,000 climate education leaders across Africa by the year 2050, with a strong focus on building a network of individuals leading the charge to develop and implement innovative solutions to the most pressing crisis.
With its combination of mentorship, expertise, and knowledge, the program is designed to prepare the next generation of informed, knowledgeable, and passionate leaders who will have the courage, commitment, and passion to advance the use of education to address the climate crisis and environmental justice issues. Through the fellowship’s workshops, mentorship sessions, and live chats, participants will acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, and networks they need to raise awareness and influence public opinion of the climate crisis and effectively pressure key stakeholders including policymakers, to act on bold just climate solutions.
WORTH
- Connect with leaders in the Climate change field and get career insights for growth.
- Design and run an onsite climate education project in any community of their choice.
- Engage in online workshops led by experts that will cover topics spanning Climate Education, creating sustainable change, and new media for change.
- Gain leadership, innovation and communication skills
- Engage in peer to peer break out sessions and idea exchange
- Have the opportunity to engage with professionals in the Climate Education space.
- Get a first-hand insight into how environmental change is made locally and globally, directly from experienced professionals.
- Be connected with a professional mentor to provide career advice and guidance.
- All participants who successfully finish the program and carry out the required project will be awarded a certificate from EcoChampions
- All participants are inducted as EcoChampions after the successful completion of the fellowship.
- The best two projects will receive $100.
ELIGIBILITY
- Resides in Africa and is passionate about Climate change, and environmental education
- Will want to take a leading role in tackling climate change using Climate education as a tool.
- Between 18-35yrs
- Can dedicate at least 2-3hrs a week for the 8 weeks duration of this program.
- Be available to carry out at least one climate education project in a community of their choice during the fellowship.
