The global fashion industry is an important driver of economic growth and provides opportunity for millions of women and men around the world. But its challenges run deep. The catastrophic collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh brought renewed attention to poor safety and working conditions, and highlighted the systemic problems that plague the global apparel supply chain. These challenges are complex and require new, collaborative solutions to transform old ways of doing business. We believe this transformation is not only possible—it is imperative.
We envision a fair and sustainable apparel industry that respects people and planet, and a future where prosperity is within reach for everyone in the fashion value chain.
