The World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowships will open for applications on 7th January, 2015. Here we discuss the eligibility criteria and application preparation for your convenience. Be prepared before time and apply once the application opens!
If you are enrolled in a PhD program in your home country and currently not employed; or enrolled in a PhD program in your home country or another World Bank member country and are working in an academic or research institution in your home country- in both conditions, you can apply for the fellowship; the condition is that you should belong to World Bank member developing country and not hold a dual citizenship of a developed country. Lecturers or researchers working in academic or research institution in developing countries are strongly encouraged to apply for the fellowship.
Applicant should be able to begin her/his fellowship between July and December 2015 and be able to complete her/his proposed fellowship research in 6 to 10 months.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must be citizens of World Bank member developing country.
- Applicants should not hold a dual citizenship of developed country.
- Applicants must have a master’s degree.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in a World Bank Member Country.
- Applicants should have completed all coursework and exam requirements for their PhD at the time of application.
- Applicants must be 35 years or younger as of 11 February 2015.
- Applicants must be accepted as a visiting scholar for a period of six to ten months by a university or research center in a World Bank member country other than your home country.
- Applicant’s research proposal is endorsed by your PhD thesis supervisor and your host institution.
- Applicants must commit to return to her/his home country to complete their PhD and work after completion of the research.
