The Nuffield Foundation is an independent charitable trust established in 1943 by William Morris, Lord Nuffield, the founder of Morris Motors. We believe policy and practice should be influenced by evidence that is independent and rigorous.
The aim of this fellowship to improve social well-being in the widest sense, primarily by funding research and innovation in education and social policy, mainly in the UK but also in Europe and Africa.
The Flowers Fellowship is open to postgraduate students registered for a PhD in a UK University in any scientific or quantitative social science field who will enter their penultimate or final year of part- or full-time study in October 2017 who wish to apply for a fellowship to be undertaken between October 2017 and September 2018.
WORTH
- Successful applicants are expected to spend as much time as possible working in POST’s offices in Westminster. POST and Nuffield Foundation are keen to encourage applicants
- From all over the UK. Additional financial support is available towards travel and accommodation costs if the successful applicant is usually based outside of London. This
- Accommodation costs if the successful applicant is usually based outside of London. This includes:Travelling to and from the fellowship location.
- Travelling to and from the region (if outside London) at the start and end of the internship.
- Utility bills.
- Administration fees when moving in.
- In exceptional circumstances financial support may also be available for additional expenses
ELIGIBILITY
The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the fellowship:
- The Flowers Fellowship is open to postgraduate students registered for a PhD in a UK University in any scientific or quantitative social science field who will enter their penultimate or final year of part- or full-time study in October 2017 who wish to apply for a fellowship to be undertaken between October 2017 and September 2018.
- The start date is to be agreed between the applicant, POST, the applicant’s supervisor and University.
