The kingship Conversation fellows program, which began in 2001, trains experienced conservationist in the use of market-based principles to address environmental challenges. The programs ultimately aim is to scale conservation outcomes related to increased health of environmental systems and reduced environmental threats.
Kinship fellows join a community of practitioners where they continue to network and collaborate to address environmental challenges. Kinship’s global network of 228 fellows in 51 countries across 7 countries is collaborative, innovative and dedicated to effective conversation.
Worth
- $6,000 stipend
- Fellows are responsible on their own travel cost
- Kinship fellow are housed in comfortable residence hall suites located on the award winning ‘green’ western Washington University campus in Bellingham, which also provides classroom and other meeting spaces for the program
- A daily lunch allowance for University dining facilities is included. For off campus dining, downtown and the historic district are within a couple of miles of campus, just a walk, bike ride or short drive away
Eligibility
- 18 applicants are selected to participate in the training program.
- The kinship fellowship is looking for conversation with at least five years of experience, who are deeply committed to conversation, involved with the implementation of market based approaches to solve environmental problems and ready to be part of an expanding community of global leaders.
- Successful applicants will be familiar with business and economic principles and work in a setting where these principles can be integrated with conversation work
