2021 Fellowship

The Scholarship Award Scheme (SAS) is provided by the Government of Ghana (GoG) and the World Bank (WB) to support promising African students to pursue Masters (MSc/MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) study programmes in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, and Environmental Management and Sustainability, and to conduct related research in the West African sub-region in particular and the Africa Region at large. Enrolled students will be supported to develop international experience in one or more of the WACWISA’s international partners’ laboratories and field stations.

WORTH

  • Ability to join an incredible network of like-minded teachers working to implement activities and lessons on the SDGs within their classrooms;
  • Opportunity to serve as a Mentor Advocate for future cohorts;
  • Certificate of Completion granted after the completion of the entire program;
  • Monthly online professional development workshops and conversations with experts on the SDGs and education. 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Teach at any primary or secondary school worldwide (teachers employed through volunteering programs such as UN Volunteers, Fulbright, Teach for All, etc. are also eligible).
  • Possess a high level of English to complete the Advocates Training and engage with the global network.
  • Commit a minimum of 5 hours per week for this role.
