Our organization has recently been awarded a grant by MasterCard Foundation to implement the Diaspora Initiative to Support Youth Training Organizations in Nigeria project. The project targets 50 youth training organizations across Nigeria, with a special focus on Abuja, Kaduna and Kano to enhance employment placement and business productivity. The project seeks to:

• Support youth organizations to gain skills for organizational capacity and development;
• Increase the amount and diversify sources of funding received by youth organizations; and
• Simply funds tracking and results reporting for local youth organizations and diaspora donors.

We believe that your organization should be one of the first beneficiaries of this noble initiative, given the good work it does with the youth of Nigeria. The initial step is to request your organization to fill in the attached capacity assessment baseline questionnaire. The baseline assessment will give us a good indication of the project management, resource mobilization, monitoring, evaluation and reporting capacity that already exists in your organization. The baseline will also help us to understand the issues that your organization and others working in this space have to contend with to deliver meaningful (impactful) results to your target beneficiaries. This information will help us to design strategies and approaches for bridging the identified capacity gaps and addressing environmental issues influencing your ability to mobilize sustainable funding.
