The African Youth Networks Movement (AYNM) is inviting leads/coordinators/presidents/chairpersons of Anglophone West African youth-interventions /networks in a conversation to address the impact of COVID-19 and way forward for youth as architects of recovery.
The virtual session will focus on:
- the impact of the pandemic on youth incl. livelihoods, public health etc
- the work of youth interventions/organisations/networks in response to the COVID-19
- how young people will position themselves in the discourse centred on planning and shaping the post-COVID future
- while governments and institutions are planning for post-COVID, we need to ensure that the voices of young people to articulate their aspirations are prominent in restructuring our communities
The AYNM, therefore, invites you to this virtual meeting which will:
- increase youth participation and conversations on the impact of COVID-19
- enhance collaboration amongst regional youth networks in Anglophone West Africa
- consolidate actions, goals, and aspirations of youth interventions/organisations/networks in Anglophone West Africa
Following the Anglophone West Africa call, we will host similar sessions in Central, Francophone West and North Africa, which will all lead up to a continental Facebook Live highlighting the outcomes of all the calls.
ELIGIBILITY
In preparation for the meeting, we ask that you:
- make sure that your lead/coordinator takes part in this call. If they cannot join, please appoint someone who will be able to participate in the session and relay decisions made to the network members
- talk to your constituencies/members and get feedback on how the pandemic has been affecting youth in Anglophone West Africa
- ideate on your network’s role post-COVID 19 and the impact of working in unison with other like-minded organizations.
