YouthHubAfrica invites Youth organizations in Sudan to indicate interests in volunteering on the capacity strengthening project. The program will provide platforms where the capacity of youth leaders and youth-led organizations in the country will be built to be able to respond to develop evidence-based advocacy and take an active part in policymaking processes, deepen understanding of social entrepreneurship as well as maximizing new media for advocacy.
Background
One of the biggest challenges facing youth development on the continent lies in implementing youth related policies. These challenges differ among countries and within groups in countries (by gender, education level, ethnicity and health status), and across the geo-political regions in Africa. Although, the population size, energy, enthusiasm, innovation and dynamism can become assets if properly harnessed for each country’s development and the growth of Africa in general. It is always very important to seek to understand those peculiarities, strength, challenges and the capacity building gaps and needs of every country or region.
OBJECTIVE
This project aims to provide a platform for youth, youth leaders and youth focused organisations in Sudan to build skills, collaborate and address youth-specific challenges. This will be achieved through the following objectives:
Collate youth voices, ideas, opinions and suggestions, identifying areas of capacity building needs.
Provide support for the implementation of an alternative youth agenda
Work with YouthHubAfrica Team to co-create a capacity and strengthening program
DURATION
The program will run for 18 months
Criteria for selecting these organizations include:
Organizations with strong programming and focus on any of these areas
1. Advocacy and policy
2. Social entrepreneurship
3. New media.
- Must be based in Sudan.
- Must be a youth-led or youth-focused organization.
- Must be a registered NGO with verifiable records of activities and impact within the selected country.
- Must have the ability to mobilize young people at the local level within the country of residence.
