During the 4th Africa-Europe Youth Summit and particularly the unprecedented AU-EU Youth Plug-In Initiative (YPII), young Africans & Europeans worked together ahead of the 5th AU- EU Summit in Abidjan in 2017, and produced recommendations and new ideas on some of the most pressing challenges facing African and European Youth alike: having access to education and decent jobs, being heard and having a seat at the table, growing up in a peaceful environment, breathing clean air, and being free to create, to mention a few.

Living up to the commitments made at the Summit, the European Union & the African Union are now ready to turn some of these recommendations and ideas into reality, with an active involvement of Youth, via the AU-EU Youth Cooperation Hub. The Hub will gather up to 36 young Africans, Europeans and Diaspora, who will work with the two institutions and relevant stakeholders to oversee implementation of pilot projects in six thematic clusters.1

Through consultative meetings in Addis Ababa and Brussels, online collaboration, and field visits, you will be able to contribute to defining the scope of these pilot projects and initiatives and be part of monitoring their implementation, in the run-up to the 6th AU-EU Summit (foreseen in 2020).

WORTH

Expenses linked to participation in the above-mentioned sessions will be covered (flights, accommodation, subsistence, insurances).
