Applications are open for the Africa Fact Checking Fellowship 2022 for Northern Regions in Cameroon. The #defyhatenow Cameroon project has run the Africa fact-checking fellowship for two years.
The Africa Fact-checking Fellowship is designed to follow up and build on the success of the alumni fellows. #FactsMatter237 aimed to track and map viral social media trends related to Cameroon’s major thematic issues and train trainers. While #AFFCameroon, through its various cohorts, aims to ensure seasoned professionals are empowered. The #Africa Fact-Checking Fellowship aims to promote fact-checking, data journalism and digital rights to journalists, bloggers and content creators in Africa. The three-month program will equip fellows with the skills and tools to address the current challenges of fake news in their countries of operation.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applications are open to: Journalists, Content creators and influencers, Digital rights activists, Bloggers.
- Be between 17 and 35 years old.
