Social Good Nigeria, Launched on 23rd of October 2014 is an ongoing project aimed at expanding the concept of Social good across Nigeria. As a networked community of innovators and socio-preneurs, leveraging on the explosive power of digital technology and a desire to collaborate to promote social entrepreneurship across Nigeria, Social Good has been announced to receive a grant from the Swedish Embassy in Abuja to promote Social entrepreneurship in 6 states of Nigeria With this grant, Social Nigeria will be able to expand its Social Good PopUp Incubator Project which is currently available in Abuja to other areas of Nigeria’s South East, South and North East Region.
The Social Good Nigeria PopUp Incubator Project is designed as a monthly capacity development program for all techies, entrepreneurs especially the SocialGood focused, to learn strategy tips from different global Swedish businesses including the experiences of emerging and successful tech entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals who have successfully built businesses and platforms that are more Social Good conscious as well corporately successful.
According to Esther Agbarakwe, Co-Founder of Social Good Nigeria, Nigeria remains a key partner to the International community in the fight to reduce poverty and promote youth employment. Social entrepreneurship is key in achieving a sustainable Nigerian society where young people and especially young women are informed, connected and empower to be the change they want to see The Embassy is proud and happy to support and partner with Social Good Nigeria to increase the knowledge exchange between Sweden and Nigeria on social entrepreneurship, CSR and women’s rights, resources and representation says Ambassador Svante Kilander, Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria.
The Project will be run in collaboration with Enspire Hub Incubator at the Abuja Technology Village in Abuja, Jos, Lagos, Warri, Oyo, Kano cities.
