The Future Generation Art Prize established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation is a worldwide contemporary art prize to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists.
The Prize is an innovative international award for artists up to 35 years of age of all backgrounds, working in any medium, investing in the artistic development and new production of works. Awarded through a competition, judged by a distinguished jury, the Prize is founded on the idea of generosity, a network of outstanding patron artists and institutional partners, and a highly democratic application procedure.
To encourage the artists from all over the world to apply, the Future Generation Art Prize accepts applications in 10 different languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian.
A group of artists can apply as one participant; at the same time any artist who belongs to a group that has applied can apply individually as a separate participant.
There is no entry fee.
Worth
- The Main Prize will be awarded by an international jury to one individual participant or collective of participants who will receive the amount of USD 100,000. The Prize will be split into USD 60,000 in cash and USD 40,000 to invest in the production of new work.
- An additional USD 20,000 will be allocated to fund artist-in-residency programs for the Special Prize winner.
- Moreover, 20 shortlisted artists will be shown at the PinchukArtCentre in Kiev, Ukraine from February 2017 to April 2017. The exhibition will also go on show at the Venice Biennale in May 2017, presenting the work of all the shortlisted artists to a broad international public.
Eligibility
- All artists worldwide between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application may apply with their work without any restrictions concerning gender, nationality, race or artistic medium
