Cultures of Resistance Network Foundation (CRNF) and the American Friends of SOAS are jointly encouraging scholarship applications from the individuals from countries that have been affected by wars and extreme poverty for ‘The Cultures of Resistance Scholarships’ 2014/15. The main aim of the scholarships program is to contribute to the aim of CRNF – empower and enrich communities – especially those that have been affected by armed conflict – through the promotion of human rights, justice for victims of war crimes and the enrichment of civil society and robust grassroots democracy.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Candidates must be resident in one of the following countries/territories – Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gaza, Georgia, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Honduras, India, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Mexico, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, West Bank, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
- Candidates must hold (or be expected to obtain) a good honours degree, preferably first class, from a UK institution or overseas equivalent.
- Candidates must have an offer of admission to pursue a full time eligible program (as listed in Scholarship announcement page) by the scholarship deadline and must be proficient in English language.
- Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2014.
