The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) is seeking proposals from the researchers and service providers who work directly with farmers for its Partnership grant.

The purpose of the Partnership Grant program is to support agricultural service providers who work directly with farmers to do on-farm demonstrations, research, marketing, and other projects that will add to the understanding of sustainable agriculture.

WORTH

  • Partnership Grants are capped at $15,000.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Northeast SARE programs are offered to all without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or familial status.
  • Applicants must be working for an agricultural organization, legally incorporated business, municipality, or operate a private consulting business such as a crop consultant or veterinarian.
  • Applicants engaged in agricultural research or outreach in organizations such as Cooperative Extension, NRCS, state departments of agriculture, colleges or universities, agricultural and community nonprofits, an agricultural consulting business, or serve on a governmental board or commission dealing with issues that affect farmers in the region are eligible to apply.
  • Projects must take place on farms or directly involve farm businesses. A farm is defined as a commercial operation with an established farm income of at least $1,000 from a crop, nursery, livestock, or aquaculture operation.
  • Cooperating farmers must each submit a letter with this application that confirms their commitment to the project and outlines the duties they will perform.
