4J is an acronym for “Internet For Jobs”. An initiative of the Nigeria Internet Group.
I4J was designed to transform Nigeria into an Information Society where business and government services are available online and the majority of the population has access to the Internet and the opportunities it offers.
The objectives of the I4J Initiative include, but are not limited to:-
• Creating Internet entrepreneurs
• Positively engaging Nigerian youths
• Bridging the digital divide between Nigeria and the developed world
• Creating local Internet content
• Creating jobs using the Internet

The Categories of Business

The 2012 I4J Grant Competition will be a little different than in the previous years, where a theme governed the entire competition. This year we will have a theme and categories within this theme:
Theme: Web Solutions for national development
Categories:
• E-commerce / E-Business Solutions
• Mobile web Solutions & Apps
• E-Government Solutions
• Cloud Solutions / Software as a Service
• Social Entrepreneurship Solutions

A grant of NGN 1,000,000 will be awarded in each of these categories.
