HESPAL is funded by participating UK Higher Education Institutes (UK HEIs); a range of private sponsors (details provided on request); the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS); the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO); and the Arab Fund in Kuwait.
Applications are invited for Higher Education Scholarship Palestine (HESPAL). Currently 24 Masters and four PhD scholarships are awarded to candidates in Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza.
WORTH
- Tuition fees (up to a maximum of £12,000)
- Pre-departure briefing from the British Council
- Arrival allowances
- Thesis allowances
- A monthly allowance to cover living expenses.
- Scholarship does not cover the costs for accompanying family, visa fees, IELTS cost, and Airfare ticket to from the UK
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicant must be a resident citizen of Palestinian Territories.
- Applicant must be currently employed by the Palestinian university which nominates her/him, which must be one of the participating Palestinian universities.
- Applicant will have a Masters degree from a Palestinian university (see footnotes) with a minimum grade of very good (and equivalent to at least a 3.0 Bachelor’s Degree from UK).
- Applicant must be below the age of 40 on application.
- Applicant must sign a written undertaking to return to Palestinian university within a time frame agreed with their university, normally one year.
