Youthhubafrica.org, an online community that seeks to create a platform for young people in Africa involved in social change to interact, learn and collaborate in new ways is seeking correspondents in 6 African Countries:
1. Ghana
2. Kenya
3. Rwanda
4. Ethiopia
5. South Africa
6. Uganda
Objectives:
• Provide a platform for young people to hone their journalism/writing skills
• Provide a space for young people to explore their creative side
• Provide a space for young people to take an active role in development issues
Opportunities:
Youthhubafrica will provide/facilitate the following:
• Listing of the correspondent’s name and profile on the youthhubafrica website
• Customised email addresses for selected correspondents
• Letters of Introductions/Recommendations for correspondents to participate in local, National and International Meetings
• Training and capacity building on web-skills, online research, interviewing e.t.c.
Job Description:
- Correspondents will cover and report on events around youth development in their countries
- Interview young people working to effect social change in their countries for youthhubafrica
- Profile local, national and international opportunities for young people in their countries
Who we are looking for?
Youthhubafrica is looking for young people who fit the following descriptions:
• Energetic
• Creative
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Execellent writing skills
• Nose for stories
• High sense of curiosity
• Determined
• Web-savvy
• Persons who can invest 10 – 12 hours on a weekly basis to generate news, stories and conduct interviews
