I stumbled upon a news item in Business Day (Nigeria) Tuesday October 22, the news focused on an investment company making a case for its mall in Abuja.
in a statement credited to Chudi Ejekam, the Actis Nigeria’s director of Real Estate, he says ‘ there are over 68,000 households with annual expenditure of over USD150,000 per household’
This figure represent about 3percent of Abuja 2.2million persons.
In essence, 3percent of Abuja 2.2million spend around 24.45million naira per household on a yearly basis.
This is quite interesting, I must say. Considering the fact that Abuja is made up largely of civil-servants, a few multinationals.
To put it in Naira terms, that means 68,000 households cough out around 24.45million Naira yearly on expenditures. Don’t ask me where the money is coming from 🙂
