farmFresh & Young Brains Development Initiative (FBIN) cordially invites the public to the 1st Africa Youth Agric Festival on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 9:00am at the National Agric Show Ground, KM 28 Abuja-Keffi Road, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

The Festival is a key component of the YFarm project initiated by Fresh & Young Brains Development Initiative with the aim of transforming Africa by mainstreaming Youth into Agriculture for shared prosperity, improved livelihoods for inclusive growth and sustainable development. The project aims to establish and promote at least 10,000 youth-led farms and agribusinesses across Africa by 2020, as well as highlight the benefits of farming for youth development and sustainable livelihoods. The goal is to promote a youth-led agribusiness society, reduce poverty and increase active youth participation in sustainable agriculture by 2020.

The Festival provides a unique platform to celebrate African youth in Agriculture, provide networking and direct access to market for youth-led farms and agribusinesses. The Festival will feature the YFarm Award for outstanding youth and Personalities in Agriculture, Youth Hub with Ministers of Agriculture and Youth Development, Launch of YFarm Mobile App, Documentary and Directory of African Youth in Agriculture, Marketplace, and Concert/Open Mic. Highlight of the Festival is the Launch of the Joint Donor Basket Fund for the YFarm Intervention Project (August 2014 – July 2015) during the Special Stakeholders Session.
