The CIVICUS Nelson Mandela-Graça Machel Innovation Awards were introduced at the 2004 CIVICUS World Assembly to celebrate civil society activists and organizations for their excellence, innovation, and brave risk-taking within grassroots development and governance initiatives.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the awards, CIVICUS has teamed up with the ‘Be the Change Campaign’ to showcase the very best contributors to civil society and thank them for their hard work and determination.
For the first time, they will open up the nominations to CIVICUS’ friends and members. You will be able to nominate a youth leader, individual activist or civil society organization who has inspired you through their creative use of campaigning to empower citizen action and people power.
