African Institute of Mathematical Science (AIMS) South Africa and the Centre for Research in Computational and Applied Mechanics (CERECAM) at the University of Cape Town, invites applications for two fully-funded PhD Scholarships and one Post-doctoral Fellowship available from July 2014.
WORTH
The value of the PhD Scholarship will be R120,000 per person per annum while the Postdoctoral Fellowship award ranges between R180,000 and R220,000 per annum, subject to qualification and the experience of the successful applicant. PhD Scholarship and Post-doctoral Fellowship awards are tax-free.
ELIGIBILITY
- PhD Scholarship: Applicant must have Master’s degree, and for Post-doctoral Fellowship: all applicants must have Doctoral degree.
- Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Engineering Sciences with a strong mathematics component
- Competencies required
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Fluent in English
- Scientific writing skills
