New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarship 2014 is now open for all the eligible individuals except for nationals from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji. The major aim of the scholarship program is to support research projects that will have tangible, positive effect on – New Zeland’s economy in terms of international trade and business development in key sectors, or population in terms of health and safety.
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and the impact of the proposed research for New Zealand; and covers – University tuition fees and associated student levies for 3 years; an annual living stipend of NZ$25,000 or NZ$2083.33 per month for 36 months; and medical insurance coverage up to NZ$600 annually for 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be a citizen of any country except New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.
- Applicants must hold a minimum equivalent 3.6/4.0 GPA OR A / A+ average in the most recent or highest post graduate tertiary qualification.
- Applicants must conduct PhD study in New Zealand (not from a distance).
- Applicants must meet the requirements for direct entry into a PhD program at a New Zealand University.
- For applicants who are commencing PhD studies in New Zealand, the start date must be after the deadline for scholarship application.
Complete application includes – academic transcripts and certificates of completion, credential evaluation report, proof of English language proficiency; academic references (x2), provisional supervision form, evidence of application/enrolment with New Zealand University, proof of citizenship, and curriculum vitae.
