Over 60% of the population of the Commonwealth is under 30. That’s 1.2 billion young people. By the Commonwealth centenary in 2031, they will be its leaders. Commonwealth100 introduces the idea of Open Source Leadership to maximize the impact of young leaders in both their professional and civic lives.
Common Purpose, a leadership development organisation, is offering a free online course for young people around the world, called Commonwealth100 (CW100). The course aims to equip young leaders with 21st century leadership skills through the Open Source Leadership model, which espouses the values of being Awake, Interconnected, Trustworthy, Quick, and Accessible as a leader. The model has also been the topic of a recent TEDx talk by Andy Coxall, CEO of Common Purpose Student Experiences, which you can view here
WORTH
- CW100 is available online, for free, for students from all disciplines and any level of study, giving them access to a global network of peers and diverse perspectives.
- Students who complete the programme will receive the Open Source Leadership Badge, which they can display as a record of their achievement on their CV or online profiles.
