The new University of Lapland Master Scholarships for students from outside of EU and EEA countries are now on offer to study in Finland. Scholarships are awarded within the Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Social Sciences.
The overreaching aim of establishing the University of Lapland was to transform the public higher education to improve quality and efficiency of teaching and learning, creating a world-class higher learning institution.
Located in the city of Rovaniemi, on the Arctic Circle, the University of Lapland is an international, multidisciplinary university whose areas of expertise include Arctic affairs and tourism research. As a research-based higher education institution, our teaching and research facilities offer students and scholars the opportunity to pursue academic excellence, at all levels – all the way up to PhD studies – in the fields of arctic issues, tourism, art and design, law, education, and the social sciences.
WORTH
- All students subject to tuition fees and starting their studies in autumn 2017 will be granted a scholarship of 4 000 euros. And that you will only have to pay half of your tuition.
- In addition, one-fourth of the students admitted will receive a scholarship covering 100 % of the tuition.
ELIGIBILITY
The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
- Admission to the university is competitive and you will not be admitted if your background is not academically relevant to the area of study you are applying for, or if you do not meet the basic eligibility requirements.
- Eligibility criteria for the Master’s degree programmes are informed on the web pages of each programme.
DEADLINE:
- May 15 2017 for autumn semester and full year admissions
- October 15 2017 for spring semester admissions
